Programming
FRIGID New York presents a wide range of programming–not just every year, but often every day! Our programming is made up of five main types of shows: festival shows, monthly shows, co-productions, resident artists’ shows, and rentals.
Festivals

We present seven festivals every season: The Days of the Dead, Gotham Storytelling, The Fire This Time, EstroGenius, The New York City Fringe Festival, Queerly, and The Little Shakespeare Festival. We also help bring the LUNGS Harvest Arts Festival to one of our local community gardens. With their diverse themes and focuses, our festivals bring a wonderful range of work and artists to our stage. They provide platforms for new and emerging artists as well as old friends and bring together artists who may otherwise never have met. Friendships are formed and memories made at each of our festivals.
Recurring Programming
Our monthly and recurring shows are a central element of our programming. These projects and producers have become pillars of our community for both audiences and artists. They are also pieces that we believe each bring something special to the FRIGID family through their range of styles, participants, and audiences, as well as just being shows we genuinely enjoy.

Co-Productions

Our co-productions are performances produced by artists working in collaboration with FRIGID New York and offer New York City artists a fairly unique opportunity to stage their work with minimal up-front cost. Our co-productions are almost exclusively new works, though we will consider previously published or classic pieces that take a new or exciting perspective.
Resident Artists
Since it’s founding in 1999, the Resident Program has served over 40 companies and artists by offering an artistic home to a select group of Indie Theater Artists and pooling together a great deal of talent and energy while focusing on their individuality as independent companies. Based on each company’s distinct needs, this program provides tangible support through rehearsal & performance space, as well as consulting, administrative, marketing, and artistic assistance.

Rentals

In addition to the shows we’re involved with the production of, FRIGID also hosts rental performances, screenings, classes, and more at UNDER St Marks. Our rentals are relatively affordable and give artists the freedom to do their work when and how they want to do it.
